The Ondo State Command of the Nigerian Police on Thursday paraded three suspected ritualists who specialised in luring and kidnapping female students of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, using them for rituals. The State Commissioner of Police, Gbenga Adeyanju, said the suspects who have been engaging in the business have spread their tentacles beyond the state. The suspects who include: John Adenitire also known as Emir, Fisayo Fasanu a.k.a Abore and Alfa Abdurafiu Tijani, a herbalist, confessed to killing of three students of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo. Speaking on their arrest, the Police boss said Adenitire and Fasanu confessed selling the bodies of the ladies to a Muslim cleric in Ore, Abdurafiu Tijani, who promised to pay N15 million for the parts of the parts of the ladies. The Federal Ministry of Education has debunked reports that Christian Religious Knowledge, CRK, has been removed as a subject of study from the curriculum of public secondary schools in Nigeria while Islamic Religious Studies, IRS, has been reintroduced. Debunking the report, Director of Press, Federal Ministry of Education, Mrs. Chinenye Ihuoma, pointed out that the ministry had designed a new subject which merged Civic Education, IRS, CRK and Social Studies into “Religion and National Values.” Mrs. Ihuoma told reporters that, “The alternation is not from the minister, this is purely from the National Council on Education. It is just as the council has said that History should be a subject of its own at the basic level in the first nine years. “Now, a new subject has been introduced, called Religion and National Values.
