Igbo Leaders Meet Governor El-Rufai, Say No To Division Of Nigeria (pics)

The Igbo Delegate Assembly comprising of Igbo leaders from the 19 Northern States and the FCT are on a courtesy visit to Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai at the Government House.

The President of the Igbo Delegate Assembly thanked the Federal Govt, the Kaduna State Govt and the Northern Governors for calming the situation after a group of Northern Youths gave an ultimatum to the Igbos to leave the north.The Igbo leaders also commended Governor El-Rufai for his leadership qualities.They Igbo stated clearly that they do not support the division of Nigeria. Governor El-Rufai assured the Igbo Leaders on behalf of the Northern Governors that everyone is safe in the North.

An armed robber identified simply as wee wee was shot dead after being nabbed during operation. According to reports, the Police arrested the only female robber among the six man gang as four other gang members fled. The female criminal was identified by the Imo State commissioner of police, Chris Ezike, as Comfort Okon, 28 years from Akwa Ibom state. The incident happened at the 7up depot in Orlu, Imo state. According to the CP , one AK 47 rifle , a motorcycle and the sum of N193,980 were recovered from the gunmen. Residents raised the alarm which led to an immediate response by the police. We kidnapped Adeyemi College of Education students, killed, sold parts for N15m – Suspects

The Ondo State Command of the Nigerian Police on Thursday paraded three suspected ritualists who specialised in luring and kidnapping female students of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, using them for rituals. The State Commissioner of Police, Gbenga Adeyanju, said the suspects who have been engaging in the business have spread their tentacles beyond the state. The suspects who include: John Adenitire also known as Emir, Fisayo Fasanu a.k.a Abore and Alfa Abdurafiu Tijani, a herbalist, confessed to killing of three students of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo. Speaking on their arrest, the Police boss said Adenitire and Fasanu confessed selling the bodies of the ladies to a Muslim cleric in Ore, Abdurafiu Tijani, who promised to pay N15 million for the parts of the parts of the ladies. FG Denies Removing CRK From Secondary School Curriculum

The Federal Ministry of Education has debunked reports that Christian Religious Knowledge, CRK, has been removed as a subject of study from the curriculum of public secondary schools in Nigeria while Islamic Religious Studies, IRS, has been reintroduced. Debunking the report, Director of Press, Federal Ministry of Education, Mrs. Chinenye Ihuoma, pointed out that the ministry had designed a new subject which merged Civic Education, IRS, CRK and Social Studies into “Religion and National Values.” Mrs. Ihuoma told reporters that, “The alternation is not from the minister, this is purely from the National Council on Education. It is just as the council has said that History should be a subject of its own at the basic level in the first nine years. “Now, a new subject has been introduced, called Religion and National Values.
